complete architectural renovation of a barn in warwickshire
Client Brief Client requested a light & contemporary look and feel. Client wished to incorporate elements of their existing traditional furniture with a very modern kitchen, bathroom and cinema room to create an 'all round party house feel'. Brief Specification A washed oak floor was installed throughout hallways and open dining area with under floor heating. Carpet was fitted to the main sitting room and cinema room. The kitchen floor was changed to burgundy limestone to compliment the chocolate and cream gloss Miele kitchen. Xu Red also designed a bespoke glass staircase. The lighting system was controlled though a Lutron system and was designed to highlight design features such as the glass staircase, open fire to sitting room and exposed brick walls. Xu Red used furniture from B&B Italia, Flexform and some of the clients existing antique family heirlooms. The master bathroom was designed with glass walls and ceramic floors using a mix of Italian manufacturers. Xu Red worked with many craftsmen to create bespoke features such as the leather walls in the cinema room and sliding doors in the sitting room. All curtains were hand made and hung using bespoke wrought iron poles.
